b) 1 ohm

in 1st resistor

parallely

1/1+1/1=1/2

in 2nd also

parallel

1/1+1/1=1/2

these both are in series

1/2+1/2=1ohm

hope this answer will help you

Answer:

1 ohm.

Explanation:

According to the given question,

The given resistance are of 1 ohm.

And we are asked to find the resistance between the points A and B.

So, The two resistors of side A are in parallel and same goes for B.

We know when resistance are in parallel then,

1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2

Where R is equivalent resistance of side A,

And R1 and R2 are the parallel resistance of A side.

So, 1/R = 1/1 + 1/1

  • 1/R = 1+1

  • 1/R = 2

  • R = 1/2

and same ans we will get from B side as, side A is symmetrical to side B with same resistance values.

So, R = 0.5 ohm and R' = 0.5 ohm

where R' = Equivalent resistance of side B

Now these two resistance i.e, R and R' are in series.

And we know series formula ,

Req = R + R'

where Req = Equivalent resistance between A and B ( Final resistance)

So, Req = 0.5 + 0.5 = 1 ohm ans.
