Answer:

Given :-

  • The sum of two integers is - 20.
  • One of the integers is 65.

To Find :-

  • What is the other integers.

Solution :-

Let,

The others integers be x

As we know that :

Sum of two numbers = One of the integers + Other integers

Given :

  • Sum of two integers = - 20
  • One of the integers = 65

According to the question by using the formula we get,

65 + x = - 20

x = - 20 - 65

x = - 85

The others integers is - 85.

\\

VERIFICATION :-

65 + x = - 20

By putting x = - 85 we get,

65 + (- 85) = - 20

65 - 85 = - 20

- 20 = - 20

Hence Verified.

Question:

 \sf \: The  \: sum  \: of  \: two \:  integers \:  is \:  -20. If  \: one  \: of  \: them  \: is \:  65, find \:  the \:  other.

Solution:

 \sf \: Let \:  the \:  second  \: integer \:  be  \: X  \\   \sf \: So,65 + x =  - 20 \\  \sf \qquad x =  - 20 - 65\\  \sf \qquad \: x =  - 85
