Given:

There are three copper wires of equal length and the ratio of the radii is 1:2:3.

To find:

Resistivity ratio of wires ?

Calculation:

  • Let's define resistivity : Resistivity is numerically equal to the resistance of a wire of unit length and unit area of cross section.

  • However, you should always remember: RESISTIVITY IS A MATERIALISTIC PROPERTY. It will is remain constant for a particular material provided that the temperature of the environment remains same.

Since, all the three wires are made of copper, all three will have same resistivity.

So, required ratio will be 1 : 1 : 1.

\star Hope It Helps.
