Given:

Three capacitors of capacitance of 1 uF, 2 uF and 3uF are connected in parallel.

To find:

  • Ratio of charges ?
  • Ratio if potential difference ?

Calculation:

  • Whenever capacitors are connected in parallel combination, they experience same potential drop (or potential difference) across the plates of the capacitor. So, the ratio of potential difference will be 1 : 1 : 1.

Now, coming to charges :

  • Charge across 1uF = 1V uC
  • Charge across 2uF = 2V uC
  • Charge across 3uF = 3V uC.

So, the ratio of charges will be 1 : 2 : 3.
