Let that integer be 'x',

5x = x^2 - 24

x^2 - 24 - 5x = 0

x^2 - 5x - 24 = 0

Lets solve now,

x^2 - 8x + 3x - 24 = 0

x(x-8) +3(x-8) = 0

(x-8)(x+3) = 0

Hence,

x = 8, x = -3

let the positive integer = x

according to given information

5x = x^2 - 24
x^2 - 5x - 24=0
x^2 - 8x + 3x - 24 =0
x(x-8) + 3(x - 8) = 0
(x +3) (x - 8)=0
x = -3 , x = 8

-3 is not positive integer....so 8 is an positive..

So the integer is 8
