Given : Two bodies are thrown horizontally from some height but with speeds 10 m/s and 20 m/s.

To find : The ratio of their time of flights and Horizontal ranges while reaching the ground.

Solution : for horizontal projectile,

horizontal range, R = u√(2H/g)

as bodies are thrown horizontally from same height H.

so, R is directly proportional to u.

so, R₁/R₂ = u₁/u₂

= 10/20 = 1/2

Therefore the ratio of their horizontal ranges is 1 : 2.

Time of flight is given by, T = √(2H/g)

here bodies are thrown from same height.

so, Time of flight will be same for both bodies.

Therefore the ratio of their time of flights is 1 : 1.
