Explanation:

Impulse = ft

             = 200 kg m/s x 3 s

             = 600 kg m/s

Change in momentum = 600 kg m/s

Mass = 1200 kg

Change in velocity = \frac{Change in momentum}{Mass}

                               = 600/1200

                               = 1/2 m/s
