The removal of unwanted plants (weeds) is called weeding. Weeding is necessary since weeds compete with the crop plant for water, nutrients, space and sunlight. Thus they affect the growth of the crop. Farmers adopt many ways to remove weeds and control their growth. Some of the methods are :

• Tilling
• Removal of weeds before they produce flower's and seeds.
• Manually removing with the help of khurpi.
• By using (weedicides) chemicals like 2,4-D

Storage means to store the crop grains inorder protect them from moisture, insects, rats and other microorganisms.

The cutting of crop after it is mature is called harvesting.
