He had led a squadron against the Japanese during the Arakan Campaign, flying close air support missions during the crucial Imphal Campaign and later assisted the advance of the Allied Forces to Yangoon (formerly Rangoon).

Air force Arjan Singh was well known for his adventurous and determined tasks which led him to DFC award in 1944.

Air force Arjan Singh displayed exemplary courage and attained the unique and honourable award of Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) in 1944. His valour act of leading ‘squadron’ against the Japanese during the Alaran campaign and Imphal campaign made him world famous.

He later promoted as “wing commander, group captain, Air commander, Air vice marshal” and then the highest ‘post of marshal’ in 2002. He is glorified as the icon of India's military history.
