Concept:

Odd numbers can be defined as the numbers which are completely divisible by 2.

Given:

The first term and difference.

Find:

50th odd number.

Solution:

This can be calculated using Arithmetic progression.

Having the a = 1 and d = 2, as two odd numbers are differ by 2, where a is the first term and d is a common difference.

nth term is calculated using,

x = a + ( n - 1 )d

here, x is the nth term and we have to calculate the 50th term.

Substituting the values,

x = a + ( n - 1 )d

x = 1 + ( 50 - 1 ) × 2

x = 1 + ( 49 × 2 )

x = 1 + 98 = 99

Hence, the 50th odd number is 99.
