Saucer provides more rate of evaporation as compared to cup.And the more is the rate of evaporation the more is its cooling.

So When there is something hot milk or any other beverage kept in saucer it leads to faster evaporation and thus that beverage cools down faster.

we are able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than from a cup because of evaporation.... and evaporation causes cooling .. so if the surface area is more rate of evaporation is faster and so is the cooling rate. so we are able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than from a cup.
