Answer:

Man is described as a serpent because he is amassing wealth only for himself and is not letting anyone get closer to it.

In the poem "Stars Speak to Man" by Abdul Ahad Azad, a man who also happens to be the jewel in creation is described as being heartless and avaricious.

  • Man was intended by nature to spread love and affection, but instead, humanity has turned to trading in religion and belief. Man was granted access to all of nature's riches, and while he was supposed to fairly share them, he instead took them all and perched on them like a possessive serpent.
  • As close to one another as a nail is to flesh, one universe and one mankind were intended to exist, but someway the fire of division and duality was lit in man's consciousness. Without giving a thought to either, humanity claims to be the foundation of dharma and religion. Humanity has been moved to tears by what man has done, which is shameful.
