Answer: My dear Mother,

In your last letter you have asked me to describe my life here. But what should I describe? Everything here is regular but mechanical.

I get up early in the morning except on Sundays and holidays when I sleep for long hours. I have to get ready quickly and take my breakfast before 7.30 a.m. The school timings are 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. with a lunch break. During this break, I rush to the school mess for lunch. Usually, there is a great rush. I take evening tea at the school canteen. Then we play for about an hour in the school ground. I take dinner at about 8.00 p.m. I study up to 11.30 p.m. and then go to bed. This is the routine of almost every hosteller. The load of studies is quite heavy. The mess food is also not up to the mark.

But you need not worry. I am getting used to this routine. Besides, my room-mate Megha, is a nice girl and we are getting on well. Together we have got rid of home-sickness.
