Answer:

5)List of properties of magnet....

1.Attractive property - magnet attracts to the ferromagnetic materials like iron, cobalt, and nickle.

2.Repulsive property - like magnetic poles reples each other and unlike poles attract each other.

3.Directive property - a freely suspended magnet always points in a north-south direction.

6) Magnetic pole, region at each end of a magnet at external magnetic field is strongest. A bar magnet suspended in earth's magnetic field orients itself in a north-south direction. The north-seeking pole of such a magnet,or any similar pole,is called a north magnetic pole.

7)Location of the poles of as magnet can be determined by suspending it freely. .....The end that points towards north direction is the north pole of the magnet while end that points towards South direction is the south pole of magnet.

8)A iron strip can converted into magnet by the following way:

place the iron strip on the table.Place one pole of bar magnet near one end of the iron strip and rub the iron strip with the bar magnet frm one end to the other. Then the iron strip turns to magnet.

9) The most common way to find a direction with a compass. A compass is a device with a floating needle as shown . The needle is a small magnet aligns itself with the Earth's magnetic field. The compass needle always points to magnetic north.

10)Boat get attracted towards the magnet i.e, boat is made up of magnetic material. That is why it is attracted towards magnet.
