Answer -

The value of x is -0.14 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given -

5(x + 1) + 2(x + 3) = 10

We have to find out the value of x.

For simplifying we will use BODMAS,

As per BODMAS rule,

B for Bracket

O for Of

D for Divide

M for Multiply

A for Addition

S for Subtraction

1st is to multiply

  5x + 5 + 2x + 6= 10

Now collect the same variable number in one side.

 5x + 2x = 10 - 5 - 6

2nd addition

7x = 10 - 11

7x =  - 1

x =  \frac{ - 1}{7}

For converting fraction into decimal-

Divide 1 by 7 we get

x =  - 0.14

Hence,

The value of x is -0.14 .
