5(x + 1) - 3(x + 4) =  \frac{5x}{3}  \\( 5x + 5) - (3x - 12) =   \frac{5x}{3}  \\ 5x + 3x  + 5 - 12 =  \frac{5x}{3}  \\ 8x - 7 =  \frac{5x}{3}  \\

3(8x - 7) = 5x \\ 24x - 21 = 5x \\ 24x - 5x = 21 \\ 19x = 21 \\ x =  \frac{21}{19}
