given, ★★

5x + 3y = 15------(1)

9x + 7y = 10------2)

multiply equation (1) by 9 and (2) by 5 ,we get

45x + 27y = 135------(3)

45x + 35y = 50 ------(4)
_________________
subtract equation (4) from (3) ,we get

- 8y = 85

y = - 85 / 8

now put value of "y" in equation(1) ,we get

5x + 3( - 85 / 8 ) = 15

5x - 255 / 8 = 15

5x = 15 + 255 / 8

x = ( 120 + 255 ) / 8×5

x = 375 / 40

x = 75 / 8

hence, value of

x = 75/8 ,and y = - 85 / 8
