As per data given in the question,

We have to determine the value of the expression - 5 \times (40-5)

So, for solving the given expression,

We will use BODMAS rule,

So, we will solve bracket part first,

We will get,

5 \times 35

Now we will multiply the obtained resultant,

We will get, (5 \times 35) = 175

Hence, after solving the expression 5 \times (40-5) we will get 175.

  • As per the data given in the question. we have to determine the value of the given expression.

       Given data:- 5\times (40-5).

  • In this expression, we will use the BODMAS RULE.
  • BODMAS RULE:- It states the correct order to solve mathematical expressions.
  • Where, B stands for 'Bracket'
  • O stands for 'Of' (multiplication of power or roots)
  • D satnds for (Division)
  • M stands for (Multiplication)
  • A stands for (Addition)
  • S stands for (subtraction).

So, applying the bodmas rule, we will solve the bracket first.

        we get,

        \Rightarrow 5\times (40-5)\\\Rightarrow 5\times 35\\=175.

Hence, the value will be 175.
