My age = (M - 5) years.

Daughter's age = (N - 5) years.

Daughter's age = N + 10

=> M + 10 = 2(N + 10)

=> M + 10 = 2N + 20

=> M = 2N + 10

=> 3N - 10 = 2N + 10

=> 3N - 2N = 10 + 10

=> N = 20

• Put value of N in (eq 1)

=> M = 3(20) - 10

=> M = 60 - 10

=> M = 50
