5 year ago I was three times as old as my daughter then years hence I will be twice as old as my daughter find the present age and my daughter present age solve by using substitution method

Answer:

let the daughter age be x

then the father age = 2x

daughter age before five years = x -5

father age before five years= 2x-5

3 (x-5) = 2x- 5

3x -15 = 2x-5

3x-2x = 15-5

x = 10

daughter age = 10 years

father age =20 years
