5 years ago A was thrice as old as B and 10 years later A shall be twice as old as B .what are the present ages of A and B.do this question with one variable.

a=3x
10 years later
b=15+x
a=15+3x=2x
according to question
15+3x=2 (15+x)
15+3x=30+2x
3x-2x=30-15
x = 15
present age of b = x+5=20
present age of a= 3x+5=50
