5 years ago Geeta's age was 3 times of kamlas age. after 10 years Geeta's age will be 2 times of kamlas age . find their present ages

at present

let kamlas age be x yrs

geetas age be y yrs

5 yrs ago

kamlas age=x-5 yrs

geetas age =y-5yrs

according to the conditio

y-5=3(x-5)

y-5=3x-15

y=3x-10 --------eqn 1

after 10 yrs

kamlas age =x+10 yrs

geetas age=y+10 yrs

according to the condition

y+10=2(x+10)

y+10=2x+20

y=2x+10 ---- eqn 2

solving eqn 1 & 2 we get

x=20 yrs

putting the valueof x in eqn 2 we get

y=50 yrs

age of geeta is 20yrs and age of kamla is 50 yrs
