And her mother's present age be '3a'

According To Question ,

5 (a-5) = 3a-5

5a-25 = 3a-5

5a-3a = -5+25

2a = 20

a = 10

Lakshmi's present age = 10 years
Lakshmi's mother's age = 30 years

3x - 5 = 5(x - 5)

Solve x:

3x - 5 = 5(x - 5)

3x - 5 = 5x - 25

5x - 3x = 25 - 5

2x = 20

x = 10.

Find their age:

Mother = 3x = 3 (10) = 30
