Answer:

22years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the agesof members in a family ,

PRESENT AGES:

father be 'a'

mother be 'b'

son be 'c'

AGES before 5years

father be 'a-5'

mother be 'b-5'

son be 'c-5'

5 years ago the average age of a family which includes father, mother and a son was 35 years

so,(a-5+b-5+c-5)/3=35

a+b+c=3(35)+15

a+b+c=120. _3

AGES before 3years

father be 'a-3'

mother be 'b-3'

son be 'c-3'

3 years ago the average age of father and mother was 46 years.so,

(a-3+b-3)/2=46

a+b-6=92

a+b=98. _2

from equations 1&2.we get,

c=120-98

c=22

The present age (in years) of the son is 22years
