let daughter's age be x n her mother's age be y

So, the sum of their ages. x+y=60-------1
the difference between their ages.(y-x)+5=30 years

y+5-x+5=30 years
y-x+10=30
y-x=20------2

add eq 1 and eq 2
y+x=60
y-x=20
_____
2y=80
y=40

put in equation 1

x+40=60
x=20

Therefore, the age of the daughter is 20 years and the age of the mother is 40 years.

Heya!
--------

========================================================

✳Let the age of Mother be 'x' years

✳Let the age of Father be 'y' years .

⚫According to the given question =>
===============================

=> ( x - 5 ) + ( y - 5 ) = 60

=> x - 5 + y - 5 = 60

=> x + y =70 ...........(1)

.

=> ( x + 5 ) - ( y + 5 ) = 30

=> x + 5 - y - 5 = 30

=> x - y = 30.............(2)

⚫Solving (1) and (2) by Elimination Method ,
===================================

=> 2y = 40

=> y = 20

⚫x = 30 + y

=> x = 30 + 20

=> x = 50

➡Age of Mother is 50 years ✔

➡Age of Daughter is 20 Years ✔
