Whenever we heard about ANTARCTICA, we imagine a solace place where there is ice and snow everywhere. It is just opposite to the Artic circle and lies on the South pole and hardly receives sunlight. That's why it is the coldest and driest continent of the world.

Antarctica was divided from the rest of the world during the division of Gondwana landmass and moved towards the south pole. The temperature is very low and climate is very harsh for any human to settle. But, many species of plants and animals survive in this condition also, due to adaptation and development of heat insulating features.

  • The cold desert supports a small variety of flora and fauna, but they are very impoverished communities. They have tolerance to harsh cold conditions. They have adapted such kind of climate.
  • They remain dormant in winter time or no sunlight time. Again they start their photosynthesis when conditions improve.
  • Similarly, most the fauna in Antartica are the invertebrates that undergoes winter sleep like hibernation. Let's explore more about them...!

Small phytoplankton can survive in extreme cold conditions and get their energy from sun. ❇ They form the base layer of ecosystem pyramid of Antarctica.

  • Krills

➙ The krills are small organisms that are the only herbivores in the Antarctic fauna. They feed on phytoplankton and bottom plants. They are shrimp like marine animals.

  • Seals

➙ They are chubby and cute Antarctic animals but are very slow in capturing their preys. They just wait for their prey to come near, but they are very aggressive. I have seen a seal who tried capturing a small penguin in Discovery.

  • Penguins

➙ They are flightless and trademark animals of Antartica. They have fat blubber which provides insulation to their boy. They feed on small krills and phytoplankton. They mostly spend their life in water and come up to the land to raise their small ones, basically for sunlight.

  • Whales

➙ Whales are the largest animals in the world today and are mammals, not fishes. They feed on seal, penguins and other small fishes. They are expert and highly ambitious in predating. They are also known as beasts of ocean.

⏏ Other animals and fauna life of Antartica constitutes of Albatross, Humpback whales, Orcas, or small insects like bugs.

Antartica was very difficult to be discovered because there was no human settlements and it is too far from other continents. Hence, it never had any indigenous population.

  • But still, many people visit and the people who live in Antartica for a quite long time are: Scientists in Scientific bases and Tourists.

Antarctica Treaty- Since, there is no indigenous population in Antartica. USA and 11 other countries has signed the Antarctica treaty in order to promote scientific investigations.

The Long term settlements that only exist in Antartica are the scientific bases which are sent by different countries.

⭐ The Scientist base sent by India, is named as Dakshin gangotri.

Most of the people visit for their research works in the summer for 3-6 months. No one lives their as their indigenous habitat, This is for the human. They visit for several research works or as tourists.

The main animals we found in Antarctica is.

  • Penguins
  • Whales
  • Seals

[I am not saying that we just find only these animals , we will find many different animals species over here ,But mainly we find these animal species.]

Animals the Cleveland Antarctica have special adaptations that allow them to survive in the the extreme conditions.

Penguins:-

  • Thick ,water proof and wind proof Coates many Antarctic animals like penguins they have a the waterproof or windproof coat.

  • They have four layers of skin like feathers. These layers overlap each other induce a very good protection from the wind

  • In tricks 52 -120 kilometres over the ice to breeding colonies which can contain up to several thousand individuals.

  • special adaptations by Emperor Penguins they are highly adapted To colded environment.

Seals:-

  • This seals have some thick phantom layer called Blubber layers.

  • In addition to providing insulation rubber also minor plates animals blood vessels to help with stay warm.

Whales:-

  • The whales (largest carnivores) is the top Marine Predator and perhaps the most wide spread .

  • The Orca whales moves in water in a group keep them warm a reduce heat loss UpTo 50%.

No place on it continues to provide such an enormous amount of history as a frozen intimidating Antarctic sitting down at the South Pole for out of reach from the general population under pickup plays host to some of the most bijali feats of mother nature to ever exist in the frozen expanse this come in colours that we were never seen before animals done abnormaly gigantic and bubbling hot Lava appears in three places where it definitely shouldn't.

the scientist discovered something rather rare about Antarctica.

  • It is a crisont shape of spack of stordust.without advanced microscopes we can't able to see this because it's very tiny like 1/25,000 inch

  • This blue and red spack named LAP-149 is older than sun extremely high levels of very specific form of carbon called carbon furtine.

scientist has come across a stunningly unique lake of sizzling hot water it sits in the middle of the mostly unexploded Mount malkin volcano.

it is a snow covered Lake is only the of the kind of ever seen.A find made counting by the fact but it that just exist in sub zero temperature .

The rare larval lake most cold in temperature between 1812-2334°F.

It's not just recent either the water has been bubbling away since at least 2000 free because larva from deep within the earth dries into rock apparently it's because of the heat from the eruptions of organic gases including sulphur dioxide and carbon dioxide(But this will happen over here only)can keep some larval lakes at a high enough temperature to keep the larva from solidified.

The lake Vostok (the third largest lake by volume)And the continent biggest sub glacial lake.It was discovered by Russian scientist "Andheri Kaptisa" in 1960.

  • The continent of Antarctica is the coldest and driest , Widest and southern most place on earth.

  • It is located almost entirely below the Antarctic circle.

  • The content Antarctica is the large Expensive land.

  • It is the earth 5th largest continent.

  • About 98 of Antarctica was covered with sheets of ice.

Humans in Antarctica:-

No one lives in Antarctica in definitely in the way that they do in the rest of the world .

  • There were no industries
  • No cities and towns.

Even if people live there they Can't cook food like us they will eat the raw meals they don't get rice-wheat accepted that just only eat the raw meals of the seals.

In my opinion human can't leave their only plans and animals can leave their that also which is adapted to live in the cold condition .

A human who can live in Antarctica cannot lead a normal human life .
