Radius of 1 plate = Radius of resultant cylinder (r) = 7 cm
Since thickness of plates is what constitutes the resultant cylinder's height
Therefore, height of cylinder (h)
= thickness * no. of plates
= 1.5 cm * 50
= 75 cm

Therefore, surface area of cylinder,
= 2πr(r+h)
= 2*22*7(7+75)/7
= 44*574/7
= 3608 sq.cm
