Given data : 50 circular discs each of radius 7 cm and thickness 1/2 cm are placed one above the other to form a right circular cylinder.

To find : The curved surface area of a cylinder which fromed by disc's.

Solution :

Now, according to given,

→ Number of disc's = 50

→ Radius of each disc ( r ) = 7 cm

→ Thickness of each disc = 1/2 cm = 0.5 cm

When disc's are placed one above the other to form a right circular cylinder then, height of cylinder ( h ) is { 50 * 0.5 } cm

∴ height of cylinder ( h ) = 25 cm

Now, by formula of curved surface area of cylinder,

→ curved surface area of cylinder

= 2 * π * r * h

→ curved surface area of cylinder

= 2 * 22/7 * 7 * 25

→ curved surface area of cylinder

= 2 * 22 * 25

→ curved surface area of cylinder

= 44 * 25

→ curved surface area of cylinder

= 1100 cm²

Answer : Hence, curved surface area of of cylinder which form due to disc's is 1100 cm².
