Answer:

The total surface area of the cylinder is 1408 cm² .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Number of circular plates = 50

Diameter of each circular plate =  14 cm

Radius of each circular plate = 14/2 = 7 cm

Thickness of circular plates = 0.5 cm

Total thickness of plates, h = 0.5 × 50 = 25 cm

Plates are placed one above other so they form a cylinder.

Total surface area of a cylinder = 2πr(h + r)

= 2 × 22/7 ×7(25 + 7)

= 44 × 32

Total surface area of a cylinder = 1408 cm²

Hence, the total surface area of the cylinder is 1408 cm² .

\large{Hey \ Dude}

Here Given that the 50 circular plates each with diameter 14 cm.

Radius of circular plates =7 cm

Thickness of plates =0.5 cm

Since these plates are one above the other so total thickness of plates =0.5 *100

=25cm

Total surface area of a cylinder

= 2∏r×h+2∏r2

2∏r(h+r)

2×227×7(25+7)

Total surface area =1408 cm2

The total surface area of the cylinder is 1408 cm2.

Hope its help you
