Hello mate !
● Sonar stands for SOund Navigation And Ranging.
● Sonar consists of a transmitter and a detector which is installed in a boat or a ship.
- The transmitter produces ultrasonic waves. These waves on striking the seabed get reflected and are sensed by the detector. The detector converts the ultrasonic waves into electrical signal .
● Sonar is used to determine the depth of the sea and to locate underwater hills, valleys, submarines etc.

Sonar (originally an acronym for sound navigation ranging) is a technique that uses sound propagation (usually underwater, as in submarine navigation) to navigate, communicate with or detect objects on or under the surface of the water, such as other vessels.
or a system for the detection of objects under water and for measuring the water's depth by emitting sound pulses and detecting or measuring their return after being reflected.
