The chemical equation is

MgCO₃ → MgO + CO₂

From the above balanced chemical equation, 1 mole of MgCO₃ decomposes on heating to give 1 mole of MgO and 1 mole of CO₂.

The Molecular mass of MgCO₃ is 24+12+48 = 84

Number of moles of MgCO₃ = given mass/gram molecular mass

= 50/84 = 0.595 moles

So, 0.595 moles of MgCO₃ gives 0.595 moles of MgO and 0.595 moles of CO₂

Mass of MgO = moles x molecular mass

= 0.595 x 40 = 23.8 grams

Mass of CO₂ = moles x molecular mass

= 0.595 x 44 = 26.18 grams

Hope it helps!!
