50 litres of mixtures of alcohol and water are in the ratio 1 is to 4 .If 10 litres of the the mixture is replaced with 10litres of water what is the new ratio of the water and alcohol​

total volume if mixture = 50 litre

alcohol : water = 1:4

alcohol = 1/(1+4)*50

= 1/5*50

= 10 litre

water = 50-10

= 40 litre

again

alcohol in 10 litre of mixture removed

= 1/5*10

= 2 litre

water = 10 - 2 = 8 litre

after removing 10 litre mixutre and adding 10 litre water

alcohol in mixture = 10 - 2 = 8 litre

water in mixture = 40 - 8 + 10 = 42 litre

ratio = 8/42

= 4/21

= 4:21
