Answer:

Length of rectangle ABCD =50\ m=50 m

Breadth of rectangle ABCD =5\ m=5 m

Area of rectangle ABCD =L\times B=L×B

=50\times 5=50×5

=250\ m^2=250 m

2

Length of rectangle EFGH =35\ m=35 m

Breadth of rectangle EFGH =5\ m=5 m

Area of rectangle EFGH =35\times5=35×5

=175\ m^2=175 m

2

Length of rectangle ILKL =5\ m=5 m

Breadth of rectangle IJKL =5\ m=5 m

Area of rectangle IJKL =35\times5=35×5

=175\ m^2=175 m

2

Now,

Area of shaded portion == (Area of ABCD ++ Area of EFGH) -− Area of IJKL

=(250+175)-25=(250+175)−25

=425-25=425−25

=400\ m^2=400 m

2

Hence area of shaded portion is 400\ m^2400 m
