Dental carries are commonly called as cavities in simple terms. It is responsible for tooth decay in human beings.

Tooth decay are mainly caused by the action of bacteria. There are some bacteria living on our mouth. When the food particles are eaten, some of them get stuck between the teeth. This is made simpler by breaking the food particles into simpler compounds called starch.

But during this process, there is some unwanted acids and harmful sugars produced. This reacts with the tooth enamel and thus decays the enamel by causing a disease called tooth decay. These present on our teeth indicate cavities in our teeth which are called as dental carries.

Hope it helped !
