Given,

L = 50 mH = 50×10^{-3} H

V = 200 V

ν = 50 Hz

To find,

The RMS value of the current in the circuit.

Solution,

We know that the RMS value of current is given as,

l = V/X_{L} (where X_{L} is the inductive reactance) ____ (1)

 X_{L} = ωL = 2πνL

now, putting the values already given to us in the above equation we get,

X_{L} = 2π×50×50×10^{-3} Ω _____ (2)

From equations (1) and (2) we get,

l = 200 / 2π×50×50×10^{-3}

l = 12.73 A

(This will be the final answer in SI units.)
