Given info : 50% of reaction is completed in 16 min, under similar conditions 75 % of the reaction is completed in 48 min.

To find : Then the order of the reaction is..

solution : using zero order reaction formula,

50 % of reaction is completed in 16 min.

[A] = [A]₀ - kt

here [A] = 50 % of [A]₀ and t = 16 min

so, [A]₀ = 32k ...(1)

when 75 % of reaction is completed in 48 min.

[A] = [A]₀ - 75 % of [A]₀ = 0.25 [A]₀ and t = 48 min.

so, 0.25[A]₀ = [A]₀ - k × 48

⇒[A]₀ = 32k ...(2).

from equations (1) and (2) we get,

the above reaction is zero order reaction.
