Given :  50% of the people in a restaurant are tea drinkers,

35 % are coffee drinkers

20% drink coffee as well as tea.

8 people drink coffee as well as tea,

To find :   how many people in the restaurant drink neither coffee nor tea

Solution:

20% drink coffee as well as tea.   =  8 people drink coffee as well as tea,

Let say total 100 %  =  X

=>   (20/100) X  = 8   => X = 40

50% of the people in a restaurant are tea drinkers,

=> Tea drinkers = (50/100)40  = 20

35 % are coffee drinkers  = (35/100) 40 = 14

Total =  Coffee + tea  -   both  + None

=> 40  = 14  + 20   - 8  + None

=> None = 14

14 People  in the restaurant drink neither coffee nor tea
