1) First answer on sheet....

2) At 4°C, water has a density of 0.999975 g/ml. Multiplying this by 36 gives us 35.9991 g. The molecular mass of water at 4°C is 18.015 g/mol. Dividing the mass by the molecular mass gives us 1.998284763 moles. One mole is made up of 6.022140857 * 10^23 particles and each water molecule has 10 protons, therefore each mole of water has 6.022140857 * 10^24 protons. Multiplying this by the amount of moles in the 36ml of water gives us 1.203395231 *10^25 protons.

Therefore, in 36ml of water at 4°C, there are 1.203395231×1025 protons.

Hope helps
