50 points! Please answer these two questions. I have my test tomorrow!

1) How do we know that evolution of life forms is occuring continuously?

2) There are two plants inhabited in an area. In the first plant, plant body is not well differentiated, but it contains pigment. In the second plant, plant body is well differentiated, but it does not contain any coloured pigment. What do you conclude from the above and where will you place it in the hierarchical system of classification?

1) All living organisms are identified and classified on the basis of some characteristics and these characteristics have greater effect on the body design and functions. The characteristics that appear earlier are likely to be more basic than the one that appear later. The evidence for evolution comes primarily from fossil record of change in earlier species, the chemical and anatomical similarities of related life forms, geographical distribution of related species and recorded genetic changes in living organisms over many generations.

Hence, classifying the organisms gives an idea about the evolution of various life forms that's occuring continuously.

2) The characteristics of the first plant belongs to the group Thallophyta while the second plant belongs to the group Bryophyta. The plants of the group Thallophyta are commonly termed as algae. These plants contain coloured pigment and are further classified on the basis of pigment as Red algae, Brown algae, Green algae and so on. The mods and Liverworts belongs to the group Bryophyta with stem and leaf like structures and do not have any specialised tissue for the conduction of water.

Hope it helps....❣❣❣
