8) Area of pavement 1 (which is horizontal)

= Length × Breadth

= 55 × 2

= 110 m²

Area of other two vertical pavements

= Length × Breadth

= 2 × 35

= 70 m²

Now, that shaded region is overlapped, hence subtract the area of that region. That region is a square of 2 m

So area of shaded region = 2 × 2 = 4 m²

=> Area of pavement = 70 - 4 = 66 m²

Similarly, other pavement will also be 66 m²

So, total = 66 + 66 + 110 = 242 m²

So cost of paving = 242 × 65 = ₹15,730

Answer :- ₹15,730

9) Now the cost of laying grass is asked.

Area for grass = total area - area of pavement

=> Total area = 55 × 35 = 1925

Area of pavements = 242

=> area for grass = 1925 - 242 = 1683 m²

So cost for laying grass = 1683 × 8 = ₹13,464

Answer :- ₹13,464

9.

Area of Grass = Total area - Area of Pavement

Now,

Total area = 55 \times 35 = 1925

And,

Area of Pavement = 242

Now,

Area of Grass

{=\:1925\:-\:242}

=\:1683\:m^{3}

So,

Cost for laying grass

 = 1683 \times 8 \\

 = 13464

Therefore,

Answer: Rs. 13,464
