Q.An impure sample of sodium chloride which weighed 1.2 g gave on treatment with excess of silver nitrate solution 2.4g of silver chloride as precipitate.calculate the percentage purity of the sample.
can somebody tell me how did we get the third last step​

Answer:

We know that to find the percentage of anything, we have to first divide the amount by the total amount and multiply 100 .

So here we divide the purity amount by total amount of NaCl and multiply 100 . Hence we got the answer.

By short formula :

Percentage = Amount × 100

Total Amount

so , 0.978 × 100

1.20

= 81.5 %
