Let us understand what is coelom.

Presence of body cavity in between body wall and gut wall, which is lined by mesoderm is known as coelom.

Acoelomate :- The animals in which coelom is absent. Example of phylum :- Platyhelminthes.

Coelomate :- The animals which have a coelom. Example :- Annelida.

Pseudocoelomates :- In pseudocoelomates, mesoderm is present as scattered pouches, which is known as pesudocoelom. That is, they have a body cavity, but it is not lined by mesodermal cell.

Example :- Nematoda/Aschelminthes.
