Goneril is indeed the first born of King Lear's three daughters.Regan is the second born of King Lear's three daughters and chooses to follow in her eldest sisters footsteps with the attempt to become superior.The youngest daughters of King Lear is Cordelia, the one favored the most out of the three.Regan and Goneril from King Lear are two of the most abhorrent and subversive characters to be found in all of Shakespeare’s work. They are responsible for the most violent and shocking scene ever written by Shakespeare.Goneril and Regan compete with each other for their father’s attention and assets. Goneril tries to explain that she loves Lear more than her other sisters;Both Regan and Goneril are very much alike as they are both villainous and cruel.Cordelia's sisters, Goneril and Regan, give deceitfully-lavish speeches professing their love, flattering his vanity. While Cordelia, seeing right through her sisters' feigned professions of love, refuses to do the same.
