There are 63 cookies to be divided among four children Ram, Arjun, John and Imran. Cookies are divided in such a way that Arjun gets twice the number of cookies as compared to Ram. John gets half of the sum of the numbers of cookies that Arjun and Ram have. Imran got half of the cookies that John got. Find the number of cookies Imran has.

Answer: 9 cookies.

Step-by-step explanation:

Ram gets r cookies.

Arjun gets 2r cookies.

John gets (r+2r)/2 = 3r/2 cookies.

Imran gets (r+2r)/2*2 = 3r/4 cookies.

We get,

r+2r+3r/2+3r/4 = 63

=> 3r + 3r/2 + 3r/4 = 63

=> 3r*4 + 3r*2 + 3r / 4 = 63

=> 12r + 6r + 3r = 63*4

=> 21r = 63*4

=> r = 3*4 = 12.

Imran gets 3r/4 = 3*12/4= = 3*3 = 9

cookies.

hi mate,

answer: 9 cookies.

solution: step-by-step explanation:

ram gets r cookies.

arjun gets 2r cookies.

john gets (r+2r)/2 = 3r/2 cookies.

imran gets (r+2r)/2*2 = 3r/4 cookies.

we get,

r+2r+3r/2+3r/4 = 63

=> 3r + 3r/2 + 3r/4 = 63

=> 3r*4 + 3r*2 + 3r / 4 = 63

=> 12r + 6r + 3r = 63*4

=> 21r = 63*4

=> r = 3*4 = 12.

imran gets 3r/4 = 3*12/4= = 3*3 = 9

cookies.

i hope it helps you.
