Answer 2 · Peptic ulcers are sores that develop in the lining of the stomach, lower esophagus, or small intestine. They're usually formed as a result of inflammation caused by the bacteria H. pylori, as well as from erosion from stomach acids.
Causes of peptic ulcers
Different factors can cause the lining of the stomach, the esophagus, and the small intestine to break down. These include:
•Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a type of bacteria that can cause a stomach infection and inflammation
•frequent use of aspirin (Bayer), ibuprofen (Advil), and other anti-inflammatory drugs (risk associated with this behavior increases in women and people over the age of 60)
•smoking
•drinking too much alcohol
•radiation therapy
•stomach cancer
Ans3 Osmoregulation is the process of maintaining an internal balance of salt and water in a fish's body. A fish is, after all, a collection of fluids floating in a fluid environment, with only a thin skin to separate the two.
Ans4 Peristaltic movement is the contraction and relaxation of the muscles in the food pipe which brings the food down the pipe and into the stomach .
Ans5 The plant will not be able to transport water from roots to different parts ofplant. Hence it will wilt and ultimately die.
Ans6. Photolysis, chemical process by which molecules are broken down into smaller units through the absorption of light.
Ans7 The plant closes these pores when carbon dioxide is not required for photosynthesis. Guard cells performs the opening and closing of these pores. The guard cells swell when water flows into these pores and stomatal pores get open, and as the water shrinks the guard cell closes.
Ans8 Ans. Phloem transports food materials from the leaves to different parts of the plant. The transportation of food in phloem is achieved by utilizing energy from ATP which helps in creating osmotic pressure that transport food from the area of high concentration to low concentration.
Ans9 Ans. Saliva contains a digestive enzyme called salivary amylase, which breaks down starch into sugar. It also moistens the food for easy swallowing.
Ans10 Since ventricles have to pump blood into various organs, they have thicker muscular walls
than atria do.
Ans 11 The endocrine is called the ductless glands because there is no ducts in the glands. The products such as hormones are secreted and goes directly to the blood stream. So there is no need for glands to collect and distribute the products, it just goes straight to the blood. Exocrine glands are the ones that do require ducts.
Ans12 Testosterone is secreted by male testis. The testis is responsible for all the changes in human body during puberty. For example: development of secondary sexual characters.
Ans13 1. Rate of heart beat.
2. Breathing movements
Ans14 When we touch Mimosa pudica (touch me not ), our touch acts as stimulus for plant and it closes its leaves in return. Some chemicals are released from the stem when we touch the plant. These chemicals force water to move out of the cell leading to the loss of turgor pressure.so touch me not droop down on touching.
