Since the body is perfectly rigid, on application of pressure the body will not undergo any change in length. Thus strain is equal to 0 making young's modulus infinite. Bulk modulus is given by volumetric stress/volumetric strain, and for the same reason above it will also be infinite.

<b>The ratio of hydraulic stress to the corresponding hydraulic strain is called bulk modulus . I t is denote by letter B

OR

It is defined as the ratio of compressive stress to volumetric strain .

B = COMPRESSIVE STRESS / VOLUMETRIC STRAIN

Its Dimesions are [M1L-1T2]

In general when force F is acting on area A which result in the change in volume DELTA V .

B = F/A/DELTA V/V= F*V / A * DELTA V

here in this condition F/A equals to pressure p so formula would be

B -P*V / DELTA V
