Answer:

Respiration is a biological process of oxidation of food in order to obtain energy.

It includes inhalation,exhalation and exchange of gases.

It is mainly of two types....

  1. Aerobic(in presence of oxygen)

C6H12O6 +6O2 -------> 6CO2+6H20+38 ATPs.

Aerobic respiration includes Glycolysis,Electron trasport system and citric acid cycle.

2. Anaerobic respiration.(in the absence of oxygen)

produces only 2 ATPs.
