first you should know about area of

parallelogram

as you know area of parallelogram gram is base × height

as you also know in parallelogram, opposite sides are equal

so we find area of parallelogram by knowing how many times base (b)required to make a area of height (h)

now we now diagonal of parallelogram divides parallelogram in equal half area

so , every triangle is part of parallelogram whose area is half of parallelogram

so area of triangle =(area of parallelogram )/2

area of triangle = (base ×height)/2
