Let the elder brother be x

and younger brother be y

x+y=50

》y=50-x

again

》7+y/4=x/2

》7=x/2-y/4

》2x-y=28

》2x-50+x=28

》3x=78

》x=26

so y=50-26=24

x=26 and y=24
