50. When we mention the charge of body we indicate
only the deficit or excess of electrons in it but not

We indicate the defect of electrons because the electrons will be rotating in an orbit and are far from nucleus so they have less forces of attraction whereas protons are held in the nucleus and cannot be transfered. As electrons are decreasing the no of protons increse and the atom gains positive charge

Electrons are loosely bound to atoms and can be readily exchanged during rubbing. Protons are firmly bound inside the nucleus. They cannot be easily detached. Hence electric charge of any body is just a surplus or deficit of electrons and not protons.
